FILM II – METEOR –
THE CREATOR
Client / Christopher Boots Lighting
Project / 11-11-11brand Films
Role / Director and Photographer
Vivid light slashes through the sky, heralding the birth of innovation and an imminent time of dynamic creation. Meteors, seen as bearing messages of idle potential in Greek mythology, dare to dazzle observers of their cosmic wonder.
FILM 1 - Hotel Bidesoa
A brand film for Hotel Bidesoa, shot primarily with available light and minimal additional lighting. The project tested the limits of mobile cinematography while working quickly and discreetly within a functioning hotel environment.
Jessica
After surviving childhood abuse, homelessness, incarceration, and gang life, she found purpose in the law and in motherhood, working toward change within her community.
FILM I – OURANOS –
THE OUTLAW
Client / Christopher Boots Lighting
Project / 11-11-11brand Films

The sun, the moon, time; limitless and complete. Revolve, rotate and echo into infinity. Cycles fracture, celestial bodies are disrupted from their path and the outsider’s revolution begins.
FILM 2 - Zapallar
An abstract art film shot on the volcanic cliffs of Zapallar, examining the ability to move fluidly between angles and locations without the infrastructure required for larger-format camera systems.
Mellow
A non-binary activist from Los Angeles who transformed personal struggle into outward love, moving from isolation toward connection and advocacy.
Chabe
An artist from Guadalajara, Mexico, whose art practice formed a bridge between communities, leading to life-changing medical support for Indigenous artisans.

Commissioned to mark the 11th anniversary of lighting atelier Christopher Boots, this triptych
of films brings the studio’s elemental light sculptures into motion.
A Quiet Roar
A Quiet Roar is a short documentary series about quiet forms of activism. It looks at how personal conviction becomes public action.
Shot on iPhone
John was invited to Santiago, Chile by Tantor Films and ShiftCam Lenses to create two short films shot on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, exploring the feasibility of using mobile technology for small-scale commercial production.
Josie
A young Indigenous woman whose act of protest, smudging sage at a Trump rally, became a viral moment. What began as ceremony shifts into resistance.
Eddie
A pastor who left a predominantly white congregation to serve an inner-city community, reshaping faith around solidarity, care, and radical love.
Celebrating METEOR, OURANOS and WINGS OF PEGASUS, the works draw on classical mythology, celestial time and choreography by Garry Stewart to translate raw materials, crystals and metals into gestures of creation, ritual and transformation.
